Distinction from Previous Attacks
Unlike previous attacks on the Ukrainian power grid, where hackers gained access to the networks and manually switched off power to electrical substations, this particular attack did not involve direct system manipulation.
Denial-of-Service Tactics
Instead, the attackers launched a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack against customer call centers, preventing customers from reporting outages or receiving updates on the situation.
